About Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is one of the most deadliest cancers in the face of this Earth. It is in the mesothelial lining of the lungs and the chest cavity (hence the aforementioned name), the abdominal cavity (a.k.a. the peritoneum) or the pericardium (sac surrounding the heart). Many believe that mesothelioma is caused by generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by asbestos fibers. Evidence suggests that simian virus 40 (SV40) works together with asbestos in the development of malignant mesothelioma. Asbestos exposure is directly correlated to at least one half of patients developing malignant mesothelioma. Malignant mesothelioma has a peak incidence over thirty (30) to fifty (50) years after asbestos exposure. Median survival for patients with malignant mesothelioma is eleven (11) months. Asbestos also has a synergistic effect with tobacco smoking in the causation of pleural mesothelioma. If one feels like he/she is diagnosed with mesothelioma, one must consult an medical professional and attorney right away. Asbestos-Related Mesothelioma Settlements - Is it all a Scam?
Contractors long ago discontinued using this carcinogen producing material, but since symptoms of mesothelioma may not appear until 30 to 50 years after exposure nearly 2000 new cases of mesothelioma, proven to be caused by asbestos exposure, are diagnosed in the United States each year.

This is where the lawyers come in. Like the song says, “Send in the clowns.”
